Women's History Calendar 2027

Colourful, A4 wall calendar, with 12 pages plus cover and board back. Includes important dates for the year ahead and significant events from women's history and the major milestones in the battle for women’s rights.

In this year's Women's History Calendar, the theme is 'Great Liberators'. Each page includes a colourful portrait and detailed descriptions of an influential woman or event from history, as follows:

• January - Mary Reid Macarthur, a pioneering Scottish trade unionist and suffragist who empowered working-class women to break free from economic exploitation.

• February - Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, an influential American author, abolitionist, and activist who dedicated her life to liberating Black Americans and women.

• March - Ida B. Wells, a fearless American investigative journalist, educator, and civil rights leader who exposed systemic racial violence.

• April - Bessie Coleman, a pioneering pilot who defied systemic racism to become the first African American and Native American woman to hold an international pilot’s license.

• May - Irena Sendler, a heroic Polish social worker and resistance operative who saved around 2,500 Jewish children during the Holocaust.

• June - Mildred Loving, a steadfast American civil rights figure whose landmark Supreme Court case struck down state bans on interracial marriage.

• July - Lakshmi Sahgal, a doctor and independence activist who commanded an all-female combat unit to bring freedom to India from British colonial rule.

• August - Florence Nightingale, a visionary British social reformer who transformed nursing into a respected, professional career path.

• September - Lily Parr, an English footballer whose extraordinary talent and defiance kept women’s football alive after the FA banned it from official grounds.

• October - Elizabeth Heyrick, a radical English Quaker and abolitionist who fiercely demanded the immediate emancipation of enslaved people.

• November - Dolores Ibárruri, known as 'La Pasionaria', a Spanish politician and communist leader who fought passionately to liberate Spain from fascist rule.

• December - The Statue of Liberty, the iconic colossal monument originally built to celebrate the abolition of American slavery and a global symbol of democracy and human rights.
